3 Years Ago Today...

Three years ago today Nate and I were at the hospital walking the halls waiting for the arrival of our little girl, Faith Elizabeth. We had no idea what we were in for...but God did. She was stubborn to come out...all in her timing. But once she did we were smitten at once. We had a steep learning curve....but she was quite patient with us as we figured things out (and still is :) ). Since then we have experienced all the firsts together....sleeping through the night for the first time, first tooth, walking, talking, singing, first hair cut, first painted fingernails, first baby sister...

And today Nate and I greeted our THREE year old together. We heard her singing upstairs in her bathroom. Made up words, of course. We went in to find her washing her hands in her princess pj's. We exclaimed (always the crazy parents) "Happy Birthday!!!!!!!" To which she responded, "Well, I'm washing my hands right now so I can't eat my cake. But, when I'm done washing my hands, I can eat my cake...Ok Mommy and Daddy?" We compromised with birthday breakfast muffins and getting to choose a present to open over breakfast.

It's a rainy and chilly day here in Missouri, so we are planning to play inside and maybe venture to the pet store or Bonkers in the afternoon...to be topped off with birthday cake and present opening this evening. Just our little family. It's a sweet time around here. Tomorrow will be her Pinkalicious party complete with pink cupcakes (to be made after bedtime tonight...oh, boy!) AND veggies (if you are familiar with the book....cupcakes and veggies are a must :) ).

In sum....today is a day when we celebrate the birth of our little girl, Faith. We say extra prayers of thanks and treasure this time. We love you Faith! Happy 3rd birthday!!!

Our Pinkalicious birthday girl!

Could she be more adorable?! :) Can I just say, I can't believe she's 3? That seems impossible to me, ha. Where does time go??
