Personality.

I love getting to see our girls develop their own personalities. It is truly one of my favorite things. Lainie is sweet as can be...snuggly, ready to give a hug and/or a kiss, grab the back of your legs when you are at the sink to get a snuggle kind of girl.

An example: We were at the mall a couple of weeks ago. We don't really go to shop (unless you count some pretzel bites :), we go to play. Lainie literally went around the play area hugging people. Well, not just people. Random dads. That I did not know. That looked at us a little strangely, but were sweet to "let" her hug them. I was quick to avert her...but with one dad in particular, this was not working. Bless his heart! She kissed him, hugged him, took off his ball cap, patted him. I kept trying to get her to play, and she kept going back to him. At one point he looked at me and kindly said, "I think you all might have to have the stranger danger talk with her." I agree :)

Lainie can also be an antagonizer too....pretty much just to her sister. She likes to test the limits and push the big sister as far as she will go.....personality.

Now Faith's personality is growing by the day too. I see it primarily in our conversations, her questions, her comments. Here's a few from the last couple weeks:

"Hey sweetie! Mommy, I'm talking to you. Let's play. You be the little sweetie. I'll be the Mommy. Okay?"

While coloring in a Strawberry Shortcake coloring book
Faith: Mommy, is God even in Strawberry Shortcake?"
Me: Umm. Yes, God is part of everything and created all things. He helped someone draw Strawberry Shortcake (don't judge...it was the best impromptu theology I could muster :) )
Faith: I wish I could be with God everywhere and jump into Strawberry Shortcake and Rapunzel!

Faith sneezed while working on her Valentine's day cards
"Awww. I just got spit all over my cards!............but......oooh la la! They turned dark pink!"

I called from work the other night to talk to the girls before bed. Faith got the phone. We talked. Then a long pause......
Me: Faith.......are you there?    Silence......Faith?
Faith: Oh, sorry Mommy! I was watching the news.

Just a little peek into the budding personalities in our family...never a dull moment :)

SNOW? WINTER?

Most likely, as soon as I utter the words, we will be hit with a snow storm, but really....what is up with this winter? NOT that I am complaining, just stating the facts...we have pretty much gotten 1 snow "storm" which was just a few inches. But, none-the-less, Faith and Daddy were out there playing and building. That girl LOVES snow! Here is thier snow castle creation....I was especially impressed with the "flags!"

...Christmas :)

We had a GREAT and busy Christmas in IA this year. There were 5 kiddos ages 4 and under. Chaotic, but worth every second...and Faith is constantly asking when we get to go back to Grandma and Grandpa's house :) Of course, there was family we didn't get to see, and pictures I wish I had taken. But here's a snapshot of some of our great memories :)
