Bumbo Fun!

Cousin Reagan let us borrow her Bumbo Chair. As you can see from the pictures, Faith is starting to be able to sit in it and support her head. It's pretty cute. She also enjoys reading her book while sitting in the chair....or maybe chewing on it :)

Yesterday was my first day in the MSW program. I think I'm going to like it, and the cohort of students I will be taking all my classes with. One in particular, Tina, is really great. So, I'm thankful to have met her, and hope we'll continue to get along and study well together.

Fourth grade continues to go well for Nate. Alot of work....and yesterday the kids were a little rowdy, but he's loving having his own classroom. Well, Faith is waking up, so I have to run! Hope you all are doing well! Lots of love from Missouri.

Expressions of a three and a half month old...

"Oh, you want to take some pictures of me, Mom? I guess that's okay."
"Here's a pretty smile for you..."
"And a profile view. Notice the chubby cheeks :)"
"Really mom? Are we done yet?"
"Well, I'm finished...the eyelids are closing..."

Having Fun...

As Faith quickly grows, we're able to play with her more which is alot of fun. So, we thought we'd share one of our "play sessions" with you all :) As you can see, tummy time is definitely progressing. She can hold her head up for much longer now, and doesn't hate it quite so much. Dad also likes to play with her. Sometimes she's not so sure, but then she catches on and actually likes it.

Today is Nate's first day of school, so we're praying all goes well! We'll keep you updated :)

Blog Two: Newest pics!

This weekend one of my best friends and college roommate, Danielle, came to visit with her husband, Ehren and their puppy Eddie. We had such a good time. We ate alot of food...including some great Barbecue at a restaurant that's a short walk from our apartment, but we had never been to. We are so so so glad they made the trip, and we got to spend some quality time together :)

As you can maybe tell from the pics, Faith is growing and changing so quickly! She has discovered her hands and is learning how to use them more and more each day. She likes her bouncy seat and has figured out that if she kicks, it actually bounces. She's thinking about rolling over...she can make it about half way and then she falls back over. She's getting great at putting herself to sleep (mostly by sucking her thumb). And, she has recently started blowing bubbles, and she does it even more when we blow bubbles at her. Yeah, we're pretty much convinced that she's a genius :)

On a different, quick note...Nate has been working hard to get his classroom ready this past week. It looks great. He has a football theme for his disciplinary system along with other creative ideas. Parents visit his classroom tomorrow night and school starts this Thursday. Faith and I have also gotten to spend some time in his classroom, and the teachers he will be working with seem very helpful. I had orientation this past week for the Masters of Social Work program. It was a little intimidating, but also good to meet people I will be taking classes with for the next 2 years. I start classes a week from tomorrow, so Faith will be with a sitter (who is a great friend of ours, Diana) one full day and two afternoons per week. We are a little nervous for all of these changes, so if you would keep us in your prayers, we would really appreciate it.

That's all for now! Enjoy the pics!

Danielle and Ehren feeding Faith....looks like they're ready...don't you think? :)
The girls after church
Faith saying goodbye to her buddy Eddie...don't worry...he didn't actually lick her :)
Faith and I relaxing. As you can see by the thumb sucking, Faith was getting sleepy.

Blog One: Last weeks pics and visitors :)

It's been a pretty eventful last week and a half! Last weekend Grandpa Tim, Nancy and Aunt Kristy came to visit. We had a great time antique shopping, eating Red Lobster (thanks Grandpa :) ) and just hanging out watching the Olympics (we LOVE the Olympics). Nate went to Osceola to help Grandma and Grandpa Berning with their home as he had promised to do. It was a good weekend for all of us, and we were really glad to have visitors.

Faith and Dad watching TV (we don't let her watch much :) )....like father like daughter...a little uncanny, huh?
Faith happy and cute in her bouncy chair
Not so happy after her bath...but still looking cute :)
We are going to post two blogs today since we have alot of pics...and the grandparents are no doubt picture deprived :) ...............................

Good Morning Dad!

Faith loves the mornings. She is so happy and content....the product of a well rested baby who sleeps about 11 hrs per night now! What a blessing :) These pics were taken a couple mornings ago when Faith woke up early, and we decided to wake dad up too :) Needless to say, he couldn't continue sleeping with such a cute, happy baby beside him :)

Play Mat Fun :)

Well, as we have mentioned before, Faith loves her play mat with toys hanging above it. We also do tummy time on the play mat. The proceeding pictures document our tummy time today...and most days :)

"Hmm...this is a different view than I'm used to."

"You know, I kind of like this. I can even raise my head a little to look at my mommy!"

"Mom! I am no longer amused! Do something, I know you're right there!"

"Whew! After suffering for a few minutes, I am recovering from being face planted onto this thing."

"Ahhh. There's my hanging toys. Life is good again."

Just an average happening in the life of Faith :)
