When Grandma Comes to Town.

My mom came to visit for a few days last week. It was sooooo good to see her, and fun to see her with Faith as she had not seen Faith in almost 2 months. When Grandma comes to visit we do lots of fun things (which, of course, are so much more fun when it's Grandma!)

Faith and Grandma after Faith's bath. (Daddy is making funny faces to the side, hence the nice smile.)

Grandma feeding Faith her rice.
Early morning with Grandma and Tucker.
Grandma being quite the trooper...walking the dog and the baby...
Taking a break from the power walk to pose for the camera...except for Tucker who is most likely growling at a pit bull or some other tough dog.
Going shopping! Shopping wears a girl out...
Look....toes!

Faith is doing very well, and had a great time with Grandma. She told me today that she is SO looking forward to a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Hutchings soon :) She said that maybe by then she'll have a TOOTH to show them....yep, she started cutting her first tooth today! She's in some pain, but the teething tablets have been working well. She's drooling like crazy and chewing on anything that will fit into her little mouth....which actually isn't a whole lot of teething rings. But, of course, she's a trooper...and a cute one at that :)
On a different and very sad note, one of my HS classmates, Skylar Dickey, was killed today in a head-on car crash. The other car in the crash was driven by a girl named Taryn. She is in the intensive care unit for internal complications. I am not exactly sure what they are, but I know that it is serious. Please remember Skylar's family and friends and Taryn and her family and friends in your prayers. I'll keep you posted about Taryn's condition when I find out.
Hope you are all well....enjoying the last hot days...looking forward to the cool ones....appreciating family and friends. Lots of love from the Hutchings clan.

Rice, Raggedy Anne and Other Things...

As you can see from the pictures, we have started feeding Faith baby rice in the mornings. She's not the biggest fan of the stuff yet, but she'll get the hang of it. It's actually pretty funny to see her try to eat it....kind of a game....feel the spoon with her tongue, spit out the rice the first time, maybe eat it the second try, and so on and so on :) Then we have Faith fascinated with her Raggedy Anne doll. She gets so excited about her and tries to eat her hair which is made out of yarn...so not the best idea :)

Ooooh...Raggedy Anne!

The baby in the mirror is STILL there :)

Faith and dad going for a walk and checking the mail

Loving tummy time!

Reading/chewing on her book...
Fascinated with her own hands...sometimes she "finds" them and it's really sweet...
Helping mommy cook dinner

Faith continues to do more and more. We're having alot of fun with her :) In the meantime, Nate and I are trucking away on school. Time seems to be going so fast as we think about upcoming holidays already. But, we're taking it one day at a time.....and we're being reminded lately of the many blessings we share from the Lord. Hope you enjoy the pics and that they bless you today as well.

We haven't forgotten :)

We're back! We've actually been here, but we've been sick, busy with school, etc. Nate is finally over his cold (working with 4th graders will do it :) ) and I'm pretty much over my cold thanks to some antibiotics. Faith has been quite the trooper. Last Thursday she was a little "blah" as she wasn't feeling well and was congested. But, since then, even though she is still somewhat congested, she has generally been in a great mood :) She is reaching for things more, making herself bounce in her bouncy seat, rolling to her side (though not all the way over yet), and she's laughed a few times! Diana told us that she laughed at Mattias yesterday when they were playing. So, here's some pics...and we'll work on getting more :)

Faith playing with one of her favorite rattles. Tummy time is getting much more interesting than it used to be!

Who is that baby looking at me?
Faith asleep with her bunny. She loves the bunny :)
Faith and Daddy playing. He makes the funniest faces...
Uh Oh...he's going in for some kisses!

BFFs

We've mentioned before that our friend, Diana, watches Faith while I have classes. Diana and her husband, Michael, have a 7 month old too, Mattias. He and Faith seem to really enjoy each other, and it's pretty entertaining. They talk back and forth, he plays with her hands, toes and bows :) They're pretty much BFFs (best friends forever :) ). Diana thoughtfully took some pictures of them together the other day and gave them to us, so we thought we'd share them with you all!

Just hangin' out...

Faith's quite the happy girl....we're just chugging along, enjoying the cooler weather and having fun. We went on a walk today, and it's fun to see her look around more when we're outside. She's growing so fast :) No more rolling over to report :( But...we know she will in her own time. Nate's not feeling very well today, so if you think of it, you could say a prayer that he doesn't get sick. Hope you all are having a great day!

Rolly Polly Olly

It's official!!! Faith rolled over!!! Once. But, once is great...and that means there's more to come. It was Sunday after church and we rolled her onto her stomach and right away she rolled back over. Since it was the weekend, Nate saw it too which is a blessing. We were pretty excited. This past week I also tried feeding Faith her first food....baby rice....yummy. It went okay, but she didn't eat much or like it much, so we're going to wait a couple weeks and try again. It's fun to see her in her high chair though :) Bath time is going well, as you can see below. We went with the mohawk look this night and apparently she liked it! :) Can you tell that we're entertained by our daughter?

Tonight Nate is at a school meeting where he presents/explains his class curriculum to parents in 3 different sessions. Needless to say, it will be a long night for him. I met with my advisor today and took Faith along. She's a great conversationalist, and she kept smiling at my advisor as we were talking. No class on Monday due to Labor Day, so I don't really feel like school is in full-swing. However, I know it will quickly pick up. 240ish pages of textbook reading per week is a good chunk. So, if we can only blog once a week or so....that's why. We're going to try to post pics at least 2 times per week though :) Enjoy the cute baby!
