Easter Ideas?

Hi Friends! So as Easter very quickly approaches, we have been thinking about how to really communicate the reason for Easter to our girls....especially the toddler (almost 3?!). Somehow, to me, it seems that Jesus is just as much or more so removed from Easter than He is from Christmas. So, just wondering...do any of you out there have any great ideas, books, materials, etc. that you have heard of or used? Please write me a comment or email if you do. I would love to hear from you!

We are excited to celebrate Jesus' resurrection around here. And thankful that my sister and her fam will be here to celebrate too!

Also, here are some Easter/Spring pictures we had taken (complimentary!) from our friend Natasha at Natasha Leigh Photography. She really does a great job!

Lainie-bug

Now it's our Lainie-bug's turn to have a blog post all to herself. We quickly adopted this nick-name for her and it fits to a tee. It just does. Before Lainie was born, I wondered how my heart could expand to love another child as fully as I love Faith. But, the love of our Father is an amazing thing. Of course, I knew that it would happen, but to experience it is another thing entirely.

Lainie has a sweet disposition and has had it since she was born 7 and a half months ago. She is a snuggly cuddler. She loves to be held close and seems to find comfort in nestling her head in my shoulder (and Daddy's, of course).  Daddy....she lights up when she sees him, reaches for him, loves his voice and his singing. Her little legs kick like crazy when he comes home from work. Oh, and have I mentioned she looks JUST like him? How is it possible to have two little girls who look so much like their Daddy? :) Good think he is so good-looking.

In these short (everyone says it will go fast and somehow with the perspective of a now almost 3 year old, it really does seem to go faster...) 7 and a half months Lainie is rolling all over the place, sitting up, clapping, "clucking" her tongue, signing "milk," and waving. Much like her big sissy, Lainie wants to communicate! Her bright eyes try to catch yours however she can...whether it's a wave, clap or babbling she needs to be heard. Speaking of the big sissy....

No one makes her smile or laugh like her big sissy does. Faithers is patient with Lainie and their love is one of the sweetest things I have seen. Faith has learned (mostly) that when Lainie grabs and yanks on her hair, she isn't meaning to pull it....so she grabs above Lainie and helps her get it out..."No, no Lainie..." Not every moment is perfect, of course, but their relationship is sweet and brings us such joy.

We love you Lainie-bug and could not imagine life without you. This mommy is blessed.
